A statement mirror is only as good as the wall it's mounted on. Before you reach for a hammer, here's the process we recommend to every customer who orders one of our larger pieces.
Weigh the Mirror, Not Just the Frame
Glass adds weight fast. A mirror that looks light in photos can easily cross 8–10kg once the glass, backing board, and frame are combined. Check the product weight listed on the page before you decide how to mount it.
Identify What's Behind the Wall
Drywall alone will not hold a heavy mirror — you need to hit a wooden stud or use the correct anchor for a hollow wall. A stud finder solves this in seconds and prevents the single most common hanging mistake.
- Solid brick or concrete wall — use masonry anchors
- Drywall over studs — screw directly into the stud
- Hollow drywall, no stud available — use rated toggle anchors
Match the Hardware to the Weight
Not all hooks are created equal. Match your hanging hardware to the actual weight of the mirror, and always round up rather than down.

Mount at the Right Height
The center of the mirror should generally sit around 145–155cm from the floor — roughly eye level for most adults. Above a console or sofa, leave 15–20cm of space between the furniture and the bottom of the frame.
Double-Check Before You Let Go
Once hung, gently test the mirror by applying light pressure from below before fully releasing it. A secure mount shouldn't shift, tilt, or make any sound against the wall.
Never rely on adhesive strips or nails alone for any mirror over 5kg. If you're unsure about your wall type — especially in older homes — it's worth getting a professional to mount it. A mirror that falls isn't just a broken product; it's a genuine safety risk.
